( K57 ): With plans still in the works to privatize
and outsource maintenance and cafeteria services at the Department of
Education, a bill has been introduced that would allow government employees
to try for those bids. Sen. Bob Klitzkie says Bill 141 would allow GovGuam
employees to form their own companies and try for those bids.
( Sen. Bob Klitzkie ):
“This would allow government employees who are looking at potential
outsourcing or privatization the alternative of becoming bosses themselves
and to participate in the process, perhaps wind up with a bid themselves.”
( K57 ): Klitzkie says GovGuam employees would have
an advantage with the experience they already have on the job.
