I “burned up” all my leave for the 27th Guam Legislature by turning in the requests for leave above. The periods of leave extend from 6 January 2003, i.e. the day the 27th was sworn in, to 27 February 2003 which works out to 306 hours of leave for two years, leaving a balance of zero.

Obviously I attended the legislative sessions in January and February 2003 but “signing for leave” during those two months shows that there is NO correlation between attendance and leave. As a public official (as opposed to a public employee) I am accountable only to you, not an employee who can grant or deny leave.

Because my leave balance will be zero at the end of the 27th Guam Legislature I will NOT be receiving a lump sum leave settlement.
